Tuesday afternoon officially closed RAC but opend EDS for the Exhange Facilitatiors. We were to meet at the pool for an adventure that was to be a surprise. We all gathered with Yida Pellerito, Mardina Knight, Christine Shuster, Suzanne Sturm heading up our group. We boarded a bus for a short ride to a place called Skyventure. Yida's idea was to experience indoor skydiving. We were all exicited and nervous. Let's just say our adrenaline was running just a liitle high.
We all had to sign and waiver our lives away, which entitled us to get a wrist band to enter the air chamber area. We climbed a few flights of stairs to arrive at a room with tables, chairs and an open bar. The bar was to settle our nerves and provide extra bravado. The room had a view of the air chamber, where we were going to be blown by 120-mph wind.
There were 6 groups of around 10 people per group. The first group was called and reappeared on the other side of the chamber. Everyone was suited up with a flight suit, helmet, glasses, knee pads and elbow pads. Then the instruction began: learning the right technique to stay afloat in the tunnel. By the time it was my group's turn (we were last), our group had several experts who could write a book and go on extended lecture tours discussing the proper body positon to fly in the tunnel with. What else would you expect from a group of Redken Facititatiors talking about body postion?
Wednesday was a day for the facilitators. Ann Mincey started our day off sharing a little bit of her heart, which was a great way to start the day. Brent Borreson put together Quick Chart for us where we began learing the process of putting head forms together with our power point programs. It was ingeneous. Yida Pellerito gave us a book to go with our flying techniques learned the night before called Mental Training for Skydiving and Life. I am in the process of reading it now. We all got together in our groups according to our classes and brianstormed ideas. We dont get a chance to get together all at once and its a great experience when we all get to be together.
It all ended so fast. Now that I am back home and Fashion Week has started I do my first show tomorrow. I will keep you posted on the shows next.
